(GEMS RADIO) – Zoe Kravitz is facing online backlash for calling out Will Smith’s actions at the Oscars. The actress became a trending topic on Twitter after old comments about her flirting with 14-year-old Jaden Smith emerged.
It’s quite obvious that Sunday’s Oscars will forever be engraved in the minds of many. Not for the awards or the fact that Will Smith won his first Oscar ever, but for the slapping incident that preceded his crowning moment.
As The Academy is still deliberating actions against Mr. Smith, the issue continues to be a trending topic on social media pages and comment sections. The majority of the online users continue to show empathy and outpouring support towards Chris Rock. Sources say the ticket sales for his upcoming comedy tour have received a major boost.
As that is happening, Chris is yet to issue a formal statement on the incident. But this hasn’t stopped other celebrities from commenting on the issue. Zoe Kravitz, who was among the attendees at the star-studded awards show, took to Instagram to express her displeasure towards Sunday’s fiasco.
“And here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now,” she wrote.
While the Batman actress received compliments and applause for the caption, not all comments were kind. Some online users retrieved comments from a 2013 interview when she spoke about Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith.
“There were moments that I was hanging out with Jaden and thinking, I can’t believe you’re 14, I have to check myself, like what I say to you,” said Kravitz, who was 24 at the time. “He has so much personality and so much swag, he is so much cooler than I am. And he’s so handsome, I was always like, when you’re older, you know, we’ll hang out…Nope, that’s inappropriate, you’re 14.”
She is yet to respond to the backlash.
