(GEMS RADIO)- Missy Elliott and Timbaland, One of the most creative teams in Hip-Hop history, is expected to make a comeback. More than 25 years after creating magic on the Virginia native’s legendary debut Supa Dupa Fly in 1997, the duo has returned to the studio.
Missy Elliott and Timbaland Teasers
On Sunday, a not-so-cryptic IG Stories post first indicated the impending endeavour. Missy Elliott posted using the hashtag “Timbaland” and “It’s going time.” She also posted several emojis to inform fans that the hitmakers would start filming a movie and may be leaving the planet.
A day later, the top producer gave his followers a heads-up with his own post. Along with a screenshot of Missy’s Instagram Story, he commented, “Watch.” It’s time for us to hit the start button.
As he wished his 3.9 million followers a happy Monday, Timbaland excited the crowd by saying he and Missy Eliott are “[in] our bag like usual.”
Missy Reflects on Their Work Together
Recently, Missy Elliott pondered on her unique collaboration with Timbaland, who produced the “Work It” hitmaker’s first five studio albums.
“Since I had no expectations, recording my debut album was stress-free. If I released one album, my label promised to give me my own label, she revealed in December. “So, I and Timbaland finished this album in two weeks without realizing it would be the first of many to follow.”
Her sophomore effort, Da Real World, was her “most difficult” and “least favorite” endeavor to accomplish. It took Missy “years later” to discover that Da Real World is a “MASTERPIECE” since she was “so hard” on herself after her debut’s success.
