Three men have been found guilty of murdering XXXTentacion in 2018. On October 6th, 2018, Jahseh Onfroy, professionally known as XXXTentacion, was murdered in what police believe was a robbery. On Monday, March 20th, 2023, three men, Dedrick D. Williams (26), Michael Boatwright (27), and Trayvon Newsome (24), were found guilty of first-degree murder of XXXTentacion.

Dedrick D. William is believed to have been the gunman in the killing, and all three were sentenced to life in prison without parole. Another suspect, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty in 2022 to 2nd-degree murder.

How XXXTentacion’s Murder Happened

Prosecutors argued that the three men were involved in a robbery gone wrong and that they intended to rob XXXTentacion. Witnesses testified that the men were seen talking to XXXTentacion before the shooting and that the rapper was shot multiple times after a struggle.

The rapper, XXXTentacion, had just visited a motorcycle shop and was leaving on his bike when two masked men approached him and “demanded property.” A struggle ensued, and one of the suspects grabbed XXXTentacion’s Louis Vuitton bag containing £42,000 ($50,000) in cash.

Allen testified against the other three suspects after he pleaded guilty. The lawyers representing the other three suspects told the judges that Allen was lying. However, the prosecutors dismissed this argument and showed the court video evidence showing the three suspects near XXXTentacion’s motorcycle.

The Matter Is Now Laid To Rest

The murder of XXXTentacion sent shockwaves through the music industry and his fans. The rapper had a tumultuous career with multiple legal issues, but he was immensely popular and beloved by many. At the time of his death, the rapper was facing fifteen felony charges, including that of battering a pregnant woman.

The rapper’s music focused on suicide, abandonment, loneliness, and depression themes. His death was a tragedy, and the trial and sentencing of the three men involved in his murder is a much-deserved justice.
