(GEMS RADIO)- August Alsina has dropped a new song “Shake The World” where he appears to address the backlash of the aftermath of his romantic affair with Jada Pinkett.
“I heard I was canceled,” he sings. “Well, let’s speak on that/Red dot on my back, I became a target/ And I’m flawed but flawless, that’s what makes me August.”
August Alsina and Jada Affair
In case you’ve been living under a rock, August Alsina and Jada Pinkett Smith made headlines in 2020 when they confirmed a romantic affair when Jada and Will Smith had amicably split.
In an interview with Angela Yee, the singer said,
“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism. He gave me his blessing and I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life.
And I truly am really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it – so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”
The Slap That Shook The World
“Shake The World” comes a week after the Oscars debacle where Will Smith slapped a comedian for making fun of his wife’s bald head.
Alsina gave his thoughts on the slap that literally shook the world.
“Choose people. Trusting that life’s intricate puzzle pieces are all forming together for the greater good and mastering of the seasonally sometime chaotic nature of your life’s art piece that’s being formed and painted by birthing life to your internal masterpiece; grown through external chaos-metamorphosing alchemy, dark turned 2 light and beauty within.”
The RnB crooner continued, “I’m A Walking Billboard & Network Simply Desiring To Televise & Broadcast Love, the love, grace and healing embrace of God, Good Music that’s healing with a lil bit of nasty cus the art of sharing temples can too be healing.
