(GEMS RADIO)- In an Instagram post, the NBA revealed its lineup of All-Star performers. THE LIST also includes performances of the national anthems of their respective nations by American singer Jewel and Canadian singer-songwriter Jully Black.

The NBA All-Star Game

Post Malone will play a mix of his hits AT the game scheduled for February 19, when LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo participate in the first-ever arena-hosted All-Star draft. According to NBC Sports, the two leaders will choose their squad live in a televised 30-minute pregame presentation for the first time in the league-wide matchup.

The Half Time Performances

Afrobeats will be the focus of the halftime performance, which will also feature Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema. Notably, in 2022, all three African celebrities found great fame with American audiences.

The unstoppable track “Last Last” by Burna Boy spent a remarkable 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. He received three 2022 Soul Train Award nominations, including Song of the Year and Songwriter, thanks to the song and a 2023 Grammy nomination.

Tems won her first Grammy earlier last month for the song “Wait For U,” which she collaborated on with Drake and Future. With her presence on fellow Nigerian musician Wizkid’s hit tune “Essence,” which enjoyed a rise in recognition last year after the release of a Justin Bieber’S remix, the song marked her second multi-platinum duet in the U.S.

On the Afrobeats-themed halftime show for the NBA All-Star Game, Rema is the name that American viewers are unfamiliar with. The artist is on his way to international notoriety after releasing a remix to his smash single “Calm Down” with Selena Gomez in late summer 2022. However, his success domestically has yet to catch up with his global image.

Other Expected Artists

The Ruffles Celebrity Game is one of many music-focused events that will be part of NBA All-Star Weekend in addition to the performance before and during the game. Several artists, including Janelle Monae, 21 Savage, and Cordae, are anticipated to take part in the events happening in and around Salt Lake City, Utah, from February 17 to 19.
