(GEMS RADIO)—Rock legend Meat Loaf has died at age 74.
The singer died from Covid. His manager, Michael Greene, says that his wife and two daughters were by his side when he passed.
The rock icon is known for his over the top rock songs and albums. His Bat Out of Hell album sold over 65 million copies. His 90s comeback sequel album, Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell spawned the hit “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)”. He won the Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance at the Grammys that year as well too.
He also appeared in several movies and TV shows along the way as well including the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
He had a career that spanned over six decades.
A statement on Facebook reads: “We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!”
