(GEMS RADIO)- Pusha T has shut down online rumor claiming beef with Eminem. The rapper has asserted that he has respect for Em and his craft. Pusha was doing press rounds to support his new album, It’s Almost Dry, which came out on April 22.
In an interview with The Morning hustle, the interviewer asked if there was anyone he could have “killed lyrically.” Instead of going for the head, the rapper decided to cool off and refused to name drop rappers he felt he could murder.
Admiration for Eminem
The interviewer hoped to ignite a beef between Em and King Push, given the rumor circulating of him and Em at odds.
“I saw just recently on Twitter people saying myself and Eminem. I’m like, bro! It was a misinterpretation of something I don’t even remember. Something I said or whatever. But you know, people decode, and they have their own thing — and I was like, ‘Nah, man!” he explained.
The Diet Coke rapper went ahead and expressed admiration for Slim Shady and his craft
“Em is somebody that I respect. He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, after all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem. That’s a goal for me, personally.” Eminem had made an appearance on Lyricist Lounge back in 1998.
Pusha credits Pharrell Williams, Kanye, and P Diddy
Pusha T’s latest album is his fourth. He features Jay Z, Kanye West, Nigo, Pharrell Williams, No Malice, Kid Cudi, Lil Uzi Vert, Labrinth, and Don Toliver. Pharrell Williams and Kanye West-produced the album.
He, however, gives much credit to P Diddy for inspiration. He writes on IG, “Anytime I’ve ever had a lack of inspiration, I searched for you. When I throw my voice in the studio, mimicking BIG, and the writers/fans notice…what they don’t know is, it was you in 2015 showing me how to turn the corner in those verses to add magic to the song. You’ve always shared the codes with me. Whether approving my albums on the outdoor home speakers at the LA estate to driving the causeways on golf carts thru Miami Beach just listening to a mogul talk.
“I say all this to let you know, although @pharrell and @kanyewest executive produced #ItsAlmostDry , it is your DNA, your fingerprints, and your spirit all over this muthaf**ka!! Thank you for everything @diddy.”
