Nirvana sued for Nevermind Album Cover. Why?

Nirvana Nearly thirty years after its release, Nirvana’s breakthrough album, Nevermind, is becoming a liability. The album cover, which depicts a nude baby underwater chasing a dollar, cites child pornography.

Spencer Elden, the baby pictured in the photo, is filing a lawsuit. His lawyer claims that the baby illustrates a sex worker chasing the dollar underwater. Nirvana’s underlying message was about capitalism. Under the law, a nude photo of a child is not child pornography.

The lawsuit is pending towards Nirvana’s label and surviving members of the band.
