Kendrick Lamar’s second studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, has been on the Billboard chart for 500 weeks. According to a tweet from billboard charts on May 31st, 2022, the album hit the 500-week mark, ranking at No. 17.
Good Kid, M.A.A.D City was released on October 22nd, 2012, and features 12 tracks, including money trees, Backstreet Freestyle, Good Kid, and Real. The studio album comes second after Eminem’s Curtain Call, the first hip hop album to last 500 weeks on Billboard 200 Chart.

Eminem, however, has openly showered praise and shown support for Kendrick Lamar’s works. He recently shared on Twitter that Lamar’s latest album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, left him speechless.
The album was a great success and sold over 240,000 copies within its first week. Kendrick Lamar collaborated with Jay Z, Drake, Dr. Dre, and other established rappers on some of the album’s tracks.
While the Poetic Justice rapper ranks high on the billboard charts, Drake’s Take Care closely follows him in the hip hop category with 481 weeks.

Overall, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City comes 8th on the Billboard’s all-time list after Adele, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Metallica, Nirvana, Bruno Mars, and AC/DC albums. Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of the Moon tops the all-time list with 962 weeks.
After its release in 2012, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, came in 2nd on the Billboard 200 chart and got the rapper nominated for various Grammy categories. The album’s long-term success is a milestone in Lamar’s rap career. It consists of some of the greatest hip-hop hits like Swimming Pools, Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe, Poetic Justice, and Compton.
In the meantime, Harry Styles’ new Album Harry’s House sold over 500 copies in its first week of release, beating Lamar’s record for his Album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
