“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar, 37, said in an NFL-released statement. The rapper has 17 Grammy Awards and 29 BET Awards, and he won a Pulitzer Prize for music in 2018 — the first musician to win outside the classical or jazz genres.

Superbowl 59 will take place in New Orleans on February 9. Lamar previously performed at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
