(GEMS RADIO)–Eminem, one of the performing artists at the Super Bowl, is sharing some exclusive photos from the Super Bowl event that took place on Sunday at the SoFi Stadium.
The rapper was among a clique of artists including Dr.Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, and 50 Cent, who produced a one-of-a-kind hip hop spectacle at the Super Bowl Halftime show.
According to reports, about 112.3 million people watched the final pitting the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. The former went home with the trophy after a 23-20 victory. At the time of publishing, the halftime performance had 51 million views on the NFL’s YouTube page.
Eminem Photos
Art director and photographer Jeremy Deputat captured the photos by Eminem. They show the rapper preparing for the historical performance and hanging out with famous friends.
One photo has Eminem chilling out with Jay-Z, the “live music entertainment strategist” for the NFL and person responsible for the all-star lineup at the event.
The ‘Rap god’ hitmaker is also seen in some photos with other show performers 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Anderson Paak, the drummer.
Knee Controversy
After the show, the Detroit rapper made headlines for taking a knee, a gesture that signified support for Colin Kaepernick. A later debunked report had earlier claimed that the NFL had attempted to ban performers from taking a knee prior to their performances.
Still, the gesture was enough to stir the right. Among the most offended was former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani who expressed his sentiments;
“Let’s get right to Eminem taking a knee.” Said Giuliani at his radio show. “Why doesn’t he go to another country? I mean, go take a knee someplace else. You know how many cops were defending him and protecting him at that game yesterday? I mean, crime is way out of control in Los Angeles.”
