The beef between P Diddy and Mase has sunk to new lows after Diddy’s mom gave a warning shot. Their frosty relationship emanates from a publishing rights scuffle that started when P Diddy called out the Grammy committee for overlooking people of color. Mase and others hit out at Diddy over hypocrisy accusing the mogul producer of taking advantage of black artists.
Mase Released a Diss track
Mase has accused Diddy of only paying him $20,000 24 years ago for a track that is still being played on the radio, alleging that Diddy shortchanged him. He later released a diss track, “Oracle 2: The liberation of Mason Betha,” to give a voice to those who have been ‘trampled’ by Diddy, especially on the Making The Band show. However, Diddy hurled expletives at those criticizing him by telling them,
“STOP ALL YOUR CRYING, BITCHING & MOANING. HUSTLE HARDER OR GET THE F*** OUT OF OUR WAY. – LOVE.”
Instagram Live Session
While Diddy was recording an Instagram live session on Saturday, he acknowledged artists such as LOX, Ma$e, Biggie, and Busta. His mom, however, commented on the chats, and he tried to de-escalate the now tense situation by saying, “Yeah, we still love Mase, always gonna be love.” He tilted the camera to her face, and she quickly took the opportunity to warn Mase, “Don’t mess with my son.”
Seemingly Unbothered
Despite the message of love to all artists, the damage Mase’s allegations have caused Diddy is immense. The ‘Feel So Good‘ artist also alleges that he would not have made it had he continued working with Diddy. However, he has yet to respond to the mom’s warning.
In the meantime, P Diddy is seemingly unbothered by the criticisms and is moving on with his life. His engagement to Caresha Brownlee, also named Yung Miami, is blossoming.
