(GEMS RADIO) – Busta Rhymes and Dave Chappelle have confirmed that they will be co-headlining a tour this year that will combine Hip Hop and comedy.
The two have been friends for a long time, so nobody was shocked when Busta announced they were planning to hit the road together on tour dubbed Dave & Busta.
The Big “Bloodclaat Announcement” Reveal
The Brooklyn legendary announced a “big bloodclaat announcement” on Saturday morning on his Instagram page. A few hours later, Busta revealed clips from a recent Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle comedy set where Chappelle told plans of combining their tours.
“There is nobody better than Busta Rhymes,” says Chris Rock before Chappelle interjects, “Oh, I gotta tell you. Me and Busta are gonna start doing a tour together. It’s not even a show — it’s more like a party. It’s called Dave & Busta’s.” The crowd then erupts in laughter at the witty name, a riff from a popular restaurant chain named Dave & Buster’s.
On Instagram, the 49-year-old rapper wrote, “@davechappelle x The Dragon #DAVE&BUSTATOUR Stay tuned for dates comin’ soon!! The Blessing ain’t stoppin’!!!”
The Tour Has Already Commenced
The pair are yet to announce the full schedule of their tour, although it looks like the tour has already commenced with Chappelle bringing out Bus-A-Bus as a special guest at his show at the Hollywood Bowl in the Netflix Is A Joke Festival on Saturday.
The show bragged of a star-studded attendance from Usher, Swizz Beatz, Ludacris, and Affion Crockett. Busta, alongside his hype man Spliff Star, performed some of the fan favorites.
Later on, Dave Chappelle and Busta Rhymes kept the party going on the dancefloor alongside Thundercat, Deon Cole, Tiffany Haddish, Affion Crockett, and Nicole Sherzinger.
Last year, a TikToker sparked a rumor of Dave Chappelle and Busta Rhymes co-founding Dave & Buster’s, the famous restaurant. The video was later debunked after revealing that the chain was founded by David Corriveau and James “Buster” Corley in 1982.
