(GEMS RADIO)—Chris Brown has sampled Michael Jackson’s “Lady in My Life”.
Brown samples the tune in his new song called “Transparency”. He shares a snippet on his instagram and you can listen to it here.
This is weeks after his Michael Jackson tribute was pulled on the American Music Awards too. “I know y’all been on me bout dis one ….,” he wrote. “(We couldn’t clear the sample and we felt it took away from the song if that music wasn’t there ) everybody and they momma ask me bout this damn song.” The tribute was to celebrate Michael Jackson’s 40 years of Thriller.
Brown didn’t say if the the sample was cleared or not. The music was infamously used in LL Cool J and Boyz II Men’s “Hey Lover” previous to this.
On November 21, a spokesperson for Dick Clark Productions claimed the Michael Jackson tribute on the American Music Awards didn’t occur due to creative direction rather than Chris Brown’s own doing.
