Saweetie, Cardi B, City Girls and other female artists are set to appear on the soundtrack of Halle Berry’s new sports drama “Bruised.”
The film’s soundtrack is set for release on November 19 on Warner Records and will feature soundtracks from artists like H.E.R, Young M.A, Erica Banks, DreamDoll, Latto, Yung Baby Tate, Ambre, Rapsody and Big Bottle Wynna.
Halle Berry shared her excitement on IG about working with an all-female lineup for the soundtrack
“SURPRISE! Can’t wait for the world to finally experience my dream come true – the first all-female Hip Hop project,” she continued. “the music of Bruised, featuring @iamcardib @saweetie @hermusicofficial @citygirls @youngma @flomillishit @latto777 and more! These ladies killed it! Project drops Nov. 19.”
H.E.R Killed It: Halle Berry
“Scared” by City Girls will be released first on November 5th. It also appears in the film alongside H.E.R’s “Automatic woman” which is one of Halle Berry’s favorite from the bunch, as per an interview with Variety.
“I have to tell you, one of the things I’m most excited about is the title song that H.E.R. sang… and she killed it. So I can’t wait to share with everyone and am super excited.”
Halle Berry directs and also plays the lead role in “Bruised” which features a story about an MMA fighter. The film is set for release on Netflix on November 24th
Halle Berry’s Acting Career
Halle Berry is the first Black woman to win Best Actress at the Oscars in 2001. She won it for her role in Monster’s Ball.
“That moment 20 years ago allowed me to have this moment,” said Halle Berry. “I realized that I can do what I want to do and found something I was passionate about. I love seeing these women of color who are now writing, directing, producing – telling their own stories
“It’s important because for so long, Black women have had their stories told through the eyes of white men. Now, we get to realize our own stories, and that is exciting.”
