(GEMS RADIO)–This week, the jury ruled in favor of Cardi B in a lawsuit against blogger Tasha K. Tasha was accused of making defamatory statements against the female rapper. Consequently, Cardi was awarded $4 million in total for the damages caused.
Obviously frustrated with the verdict, the blogger promised to address her fans about the court case later in the week, a promise she has since kept. According to Tasha, she is a victim of bullying by “a machine that has corporate interest to protect prostitution, drug use, promiscuity, and to glorify the violence that wreaks havoc on our society in our neighborhoods.”
Tasha referred to it as a conspiracy against her, and she was not shocked by the outcome of the verdict.
“We are prepared for this challenge from the beginning,” she added. “We called bluff against a machine that wanted to bully me for not wavering from my personal beliefs. To glorify its sold to our children as the ‘it factor.’
“This machine, this thing secured an extremely prejudicial verdict against myself solely off of sympathy and payola.” She continued, “My First Amendment right poses a threat to the machine’s sole intention to mislead the public with caricatures built on violence, selling sex and images of a denounced stereotype.
Tasha also stated her intention of filing an appeal and exposing every conspiracy against her and her company.
After the verdict, Cardi B issued a statement in regards to the same;
“During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life,” she said. “That moment in time was fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online. I thought I would never be heard or vindicated, and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable.
“I really hope that my experience forces all of us, but especially the platforms who allow this behavior to be a part of their communities, to re-think what moves us forward as a society versus what cripples us.”
