(GEMS RADIO)- SCY JIMM of Quality Control Music Label released a provocative new jam a few hours after being discharged from hospital. He had been admitted after being shot several times.
He was shot at the beginning of June, this year in Daytona Beach, Florida as he was in the process of parking his car. The song’s title is “In Too Deep”. In the song, he tackled the sad occurrence head-on. He was lucky to have survived the shooting.
“Heard they wanna take me down, won’t let them sweep me off my feet/ Mama want me out that water, but I’m in too deep,” SCY said in the song.
Apart from “In Too Deep”, he also released another song. The name of the second song is “Wrecked The Cat”. In the track, he describes how he helped a Dodge Hellcat overcome alcohol addiction. QC head honcho had given him the cat as a gift.
Moments before dropping the two singles, SCY JIMM issued a press statement which gave hiphop fans an opportunity to have a glimpse into his mind while recovering and making new music.
He explained that not everything is great at the moment, but he feels blessed to be alive. He added that he is saddened by the fact that it took being shot for him to know who cares for him and who doesn’t.
“It’s sad I had to get shot to realize who’s there and who’s not there for me! I have barely rested, barely healed, but I’m still excited to tell you This Friday, Ill be releasing two videos in one ‘In Too Deep’ & ‘Wrecked The Cat.”
A day prior to the shooting incident, SCY JIMM’s manager, Blue Chezz, had allegedly been arrested for committing second class murder.
The youthful rapper from Florida signed a contract with QC in Feb and at the moment he has about 65,000 listeners on spotify each month
Strangely, there are two other QC artists who experienced gun violence in the past. Lil Marlo was shot in 2020 in Atlanta and he succumbed to his injuries and in 2021, Bankroll Freddie was shot in the face.
