(GEMS RADIO)- Method Man has expressed his opinions on hip-hop status, noting how things have changed since the peak of the Wu-Tang Clan. The “Bring The Pain” rapper discussed how much changed in the past three decades in an interview with The Breakfast Club.
Method Man Discusses Hip Hop Differences
“Let’s say Hip Hop was in its early 20s,” he said. “Still young, but still likes to fuck a lot. There is much more authenticity now that I am learning more about what these streets are like. You can tell that a record is from the West Coast when you hear it. We can tell that was in the South when you heard U.G.K.
He added that, “I’m not taking anything away from the music of today. Because whatever works, works. And I approve of some of the work being done these days. But we had identities back then. Everyone was competing for their own identity at the time. Currently, everyone is vying for the same identity.”
Method Man was quick to explain that he still has faith in hip-hop’s future despite the current sound’s monotony. “I don’t mind because, you know, that’s going to ignite the thought that transforms everything,”
Method Man Acknowledges GloRilla
To be fair to the “Protect Your Neck” rapper, he isn’t scared to acknowledge contemporary musicians, as he demonstrated in February by giving GloRilla a shoutout.
Mef was recently questioned about the new artist he was enjoying. Method man said GloRilla, has become “big” in his household due to her famous song “F.N.F.,”. He admitted, “I don’t listen to much of today’s music.” Glo is relevant in my household.
He continued by claiming that he had met GloRilla and that, at the time, she had no idea who the famed rapper was. Meth yet stated she was considerate. That says a lot about her character. “I love her,” Meth continued.
GloRilla Responded To Method Man
GloRilla responded to Meth’s love on Instagram Stories by claiming to be a “big fan” of the New York rapper and that she “definitely” knew who he was.
