(GEMS RADIO)- After being found guilty of shooting Megan the Stallion, Tory Lanez has maintained his innocence and is now calling for a new trial. He asserts that the prosecution deceived and misled the jury over his DNA being found on the weapon.
Over the weekend, he published an open letter to Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon. He reacted angrily to the conviction and demanded a new trial. On Tuesday (April 25), the lawyer for the Canadian artist asserted that his client would demonstrate how Evidence based on DNA was misused to deceive the jury.
Tory Lanez posted a message via a jail call on his Instagram page soon after the lawyer made his pronouncement. Deputy district attorneys Kathy Ta and Alex Bott, as well as a DNA expert, were accused by Tory of deceiving the jury about if his DNA was present on the gun used to shoot Megan Thee Stallion.
The recording begins, “I’ve been in jail for almost half a year over a gun that the D.A.s falsified and stated I shot. With “no pushback, delay, or question,” according to Tory, he submitted to a DNA test in 2021 because “I was completely affirmative that I had never held this gun.”
In short, he said in his conclusion that District Attorney Kathy Ta and Alex Bott misled my jury with fraudulent, inaccurate, and inadequate DNA data, breaching my right to a fair trial and the 14th Amendment. My faith, prayers, and utmost hopes are directed towards the Honorable Judge Harriford, who I trust will rule on May 8 under the United States Supreme Court legislation, restoring my liberty, that of my family, and, most importantly, the justice of a fair trial.
In the letter, he also stated that he was seeking justice for himself as well as his fans and minorities like the Hispanics and Blacks who are unable to find justice in the U.S. He added that he did not want Mr. Gascon to show him sympathy or compassion but rather, he should implement the laws of California and be fair and just.
