(GEMS RADIO)- A lady who played a supporting role in the Kanye West documentary jeen-yuhs has sued Netflix and the film’s producers, alleging that they took advantage of her by releasing the work.
Kanye West’s Documentary
For their documentary, released on Netflix in February of last year, filmmakers Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah followed Kanye West for more than 20 years. The movie depicts the rapper throughout his journey and includes early footage.
However, a Chicago woman who features in the documentary alleges that she has altered her life in the 18 years since interacting with Ye and that the film has brought back a past she has since moved on from, according to T.M.Z.
Cynthia Love says in court papers obtained by the publication that she appeared in Kanye’s 2003 video clip “Through the Wire” as a cameo. Love, however, claimed in the complaint she filed on Monday (April 17) that at the time of recording, she was in an “altered state and not able to grant permission.”
Love Claims it Stirred Past Memories
She also asserts that the expanded version of the dinner scenario brought back unpleasant emotions. Love asserts that she has improved her life in the past year and has been clean for about 18 years. Love claims she was forced to address her past because many of her friends and relatives were uninformed of her history and jeen-yuhs.
Love, however, asserted in the lawsuit she submitted on Monday (April 17) she had been in an “altered state and not qualified to grant authorization” at the time of recording.
She also claims that the expanded meal setting stirred her uncomfortable feelings. Love claims that throughout the past year, she has improved her life and has been sober for about 18 years. Love asserts that the fact that a lot of her family and close friends were unaware of her past and jeen-yuhs compelled her to talk about it.
