The rapper French Montana emerged as the most streamed musician of African descent over the weekend, according to his publicist. His breakthrough song “Unforgettable,” which featured Swae Lee, received a diamond certification last year and amassed over three billion streams globally; as a result, helping him reach the milestone. French became the first artist of African descent to receive the honor thanks to the diamond certification.
French Montana’s Humanitarian Work
Throughout his career, French Montana has portrayed his African roots. French earned the 2022 Innovator Award in October for his humanitarian work in Uganda at the annual Pencils of Promise Gala in New York City.
