In September 2021, the stars of “TROLLZ” hitmaker Tekashi 6ix9ine were seemingly shining bright after he bagged $43 Million in Business Deals. Some of the contracts included; a new album release, a tour, and a movie, among others. He also signed contracts worth millions as his career took a step in the positive direction.
However, the success of the celebrated artist could be his undoing. He is now facing laswuits totaling $5.3 million. The plaintiffs, Fame LLC and After Hours LLC, are asking the court to award them damages. They argue that the defendant failed to respond to their claims six months after notification.
Lawsuit’s Facts
The intricate case details how 6ix9ine received payments for concerts he did not attend. Other joint plaintiffs include promoters JJD Entertainment and Jaime Dominguez, who paid out $170,000.
To make the matter worse, 6ix9ine further claimed that the promotors reneged on their obligations to him. This can be construed as defamation, and this could exacerbate the claim.
There Are Joint Plaintiffs
Given the nature of the entertainment business, the suit also mentions Shoti-the former manager and booking company.
Nonetheless, the suits are at an advanced stage where the rapper is accused of alleged non-response to the claims. It is unclear whether the judge would rule against the rapper.
Is 6ix9ine Broke?
The “GOOBA” rapper has a history of being on the wrong side of the law. He has been silent for much of 2022. He even told the 2018-armed robbery lawsuit court hearing that his career was no longer viable, and he was struggling to “make ends meet”.
However, he has been flaunting his wealth on social media. One notable post was when he claimed how he scooped $500,000 in a 40-minute performance in Istanbul. Can he afford to pay off the damages in case the court rules against him?
