(GEMS RADIO)—Mary J. Blige is celebrating a day named in her honor.

The queen of hip hop/soul Mary J. Blige has much to celebrate for. Not only did she have a smashing high ratings performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, she is filming Season 2 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and just dropped her newest album Good Morning Beautiful.

Now, the R&B powerhouse is celebrating her own day, called Strength of a Woman Day, named after her 2017 album. This comes ahead of Atlanta’s Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit this weekend. The summit will hold workshops looking to empower, educate and elevate women of color.

Her career will see more awards come through as she performs at the Billboard Music Awards on May 15, where she will receive the 2022 Icon Award.
