50 Cent is Trying to Buy Back ‘Power’ Universe and Leave STARZ Network

(GEMS RADIO) – According to 50 Cent’s Instagram post on Tuesday, the rapper is trying to buy his Power Universe from STARZ. 50 Cent publicly aired his frustrations with the network, which is home to his shows, including Power Book II: Ghost Black Mafia Family and Power Book IV: Force.

With the finale of Force set for April 17th, the rapper is trying to figure out his next move. According to the caption on his Tuesday IG post, the film mogul will attempt to buy back and shop it to other networks

“Everybody ready to work, I’m trying to buy my universe back from STARZ, so it goes wherever I go,” 50 Cent wrote. “Only 5 months left in my deal, and I’m not on the air for 6 months, so We Out!”

50 Cent Woes Began in March

The 46-year-old started airing his woes back in March with threats that he wanted to leave. The rapper filmmaker posted a video and captioned

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ. Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They renewed High Town, and FORCE is the highest-rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here, you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”

Success with STARZ Network

The posts about leaving came when he was celebrating his success with STARZ had been.

G-Unit Film & TV produces the Top 4 series in African American households (Force, Ghost, Raising Kanan, BMF),” he wrote. “BMF was the biggest direct-to-consumer premiere via the Starz app. Force was the biggest premiere for Starz in the network’s entire history.

He continued, “Total of 21 shows across 9 different networks. 8 shows produced/in production/greenlit to production in 2022 increasing to a minimum of 10 in 2023.”
