(GEMS RADIO) – Nelly and Tank have offered their support to T.I. after the rapper was heckled and booed on stage as he attempted to show his comedic prowess in his first paid gig over the weekend. A video is trending on Twitter of the Atlanta rapper conceding to crowds airing their disapproval over his jokes.
T.I was appearing on April Fools Comedy Jam in Brooklyn on Saturday alongside a lineup of heavy-hitting comedians like Michael Blackson, Nick Cannon, Eddie Griffin, HaHa Davis, B, Simone and music from Lil Kim, Moneybagg Yo and D.J. Envy.
“Well, god damn,” says T.I. in the video. “I’m gone tell y’all muthaf**kin’ ass like this. You got one more muthaf**kin’ album out of me. It’s called ‘Kill The King’ for muthaf**kas like you. And I appreciate y’all because you make me the absolute best n-gga. New York has made me the muthaf**kin’ best.”
Handled It Like A Pro
Tank and Nelly commented on a post from The Shade Room where they supported and shared the belief that he handled the situation like a professional despite his amateur status as a stand-up comedian.
Nelly wrote, “Tell me what comedian hasn’t got booed? Apart of earning ya stripes. that’s a part of entertainment. Period. Tank also gave T.I. a vote of confidence while offering a possible hybrid formula for his sets to help successfully win over a crowd.
“Those kinds of crowds wanna hear you do what they know you for,” he continued. “He has to build a set that involves his music and comedy. He’ll be fine. Speaking from experience.”
T.I has No Regrets
Speaking to Michael Blackson following the incident, T.I said that he embraced the experience with no regrets.
“I had the greatest time. I had the best set of my comic career. I enjoyed myself, bro. I love that sh*t. What I will say is a muthaf**ka went into some shit thinking it was going to go a certain way, had to make adjustments and then turned that shit around and got the f**k out of there. I love that sh*t, bro. I love that sh*t. I’m here for that.”
