(GEMS RADIO)– The DONDA 2 listening event finally went down on Feb 22nd at the Miami LoanDepot Park on Tuesday night.
The event began with the burning of Kanye’s replica childhood house after about two hours of waiting. Dressed in all black, Kanye came out striding in water and enveloped in smoke. As he sang through his new songs, he was soon joined by The Game for their collaboration on “Eazy.”
The crowd cheered on as Ye got to the line where he sang about his ex-wife’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson;
“God saved me from that crash/Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass (Who?).”
The album has more lines directly aimed at Kim Kardashian. On “Flowers,” the rapper referenced the flowers he sent his ex-wife on Valentine’s Day. Kanye raps;
“Keep the flowers, sent a hundred thousand,” He raps. “When you give them everything/They always want more” and “Never stand between a man and his kids/I’ll put your security at risk” also sounded like nods to his failed marriage and Kardashian’s new relationship.
Later on, Migos and 2Chainz joined Kanye West on the stage. This happened as dozens of soldiers with black helmets surrounded the rappers.
Pusha T also joined Ye on the stage as he performed his most recent hit, “Diet Coke.”
As a statement against the cancel culture, DaBaby and Marilyn Manson also appeared for “Jail.”
Alicia Keys was also among the guest appearances on the show. She appeared dressed in a fancy jumpsuit to sing the hook for Fivio Foreign and Ye’s “City of Gods.”
Other contributors to the album include Baby Keem, Playboy Carti, Don Toliver, Vori, and Soulja Boy. Yes, you read that right. After feuding with Ye for dropping him on the first installment, Soulja Boy finally made it to the DONDA album.
Kanye has brazenly stated that the new album, DONDA 2, won’t be available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, or YouTube streaming platforms. The album will only be available for purchase on Stem Player for $200.
