(GEMS RADIO)–Ice T has warned to young rappers travelling to Los Angeles for the Super Bowl final between the Los Angeles Rams and The Cincinnati Bengals. The iconic rapper shared a post on Instagram over the weekend warning rappers to be careful about travelling to the City of Angels.
“SuperBowlWeekend: Not a Threat, just a Warning,” Ice T continued. “Young Rappers coming to LA for the Super Bowl weekend. LA has over 50Thousand ACTIVE Gang Members. Make sure you play it SAFE. It’s the Wild Wild West.”
Kodak Black and Three Others Shot
The announcement came hours after Kodak Black was shot at Justin Beiber’s West Hollywood after party on Saturday morning
The rapper was standing outside a popular restaurant when shots sprang out. One bullet hit him in the leg. He, alongside three others, were rushed to a local hospital where they are still recovering.
Footage published by TMZ shows Kodak, Gunna and a group of fans leaving the venue and then stopping to pose for photos with fans. A brawl between a clique of men near the scene broke out and ultimately ended in gunfire, leaving everyone scampering for safety.
According to the police, about 10 shots were fired and four people, including Kodak Black sustained superficial injuries. No arrests were made regarding the shooting
Most Heavily Curated Hip Hop Super Bowl Half Time Show
The 2022 Super Bowl halftime show has a heavy hip-hop presence, with performances from Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J Blige.
Los Angeles is among the most gang affiliated neighbourhoods in the country. The untimely passing of Drakeo The Ruler has shown the city’s ugly side. Considering the exorbitant ticket prices this year, this year’s Superbowl will likely attract the gaudy and stylish.
If we’ve learnt anything from the last couple of years, being too accessible and flashy is a recipe for disaster in an environment like this.
